a company to know : STELA 9

STELA 9 is an ethically-conscious & free-spirited fashion brand born in Antigua, Guatemala. They are known for their hand-woven textiles, ethically-sourced leather, and their mission to preserve Mayan cultural traditions through their beautifully-crafted designs and impeccable handiwork by the local Guatemalan artisans.I have been a huge fan of STELA 9 since I first purchased their Festival Leather Belt Bag back in July. Receiving my belt bag in the mail was such an exciting day for me...I had been eyeing the bag for a month before I finally caved and purchased it. The bag came with an adorable Guatemalan Worry Doll - This brought me back to my childhood when I used to express all of my anxiety to my worry doll and place it under my pillow at night.

I would love for everyone to check out their Kickstarter and donate if you can!

STELA 9 is offering their high-quality handbags at a very reasonable price just for supporting the cause. If you cannot donate, please repost/spread the word. I promise you, just by watching the video you will feel inspired to help. The day I read about the Kickstarter, I decided to sell my limited edition Michael Kors bag to fund their project. Totally worth it!

I get so many compliments on my belt bag, and I am always thrilled to tell people about the company I purchased it from. Every item from STELA 9 is made-to-order and each bag has a story to tell. What you choose to wear can be so much deeper than just wearing a pretty outfit. Let your style be a reflection of you and your values. By supporting companies like STELA 9, you are standing up and saying "no" to the fast-fashion world we live in now.

Muchas gracias, STELA 9, for being advocates in the growth of ethical fashion.

“I don't want to go on being a root in the dark, vacillating, stretched out, shivering with sleep, downward, in the soaked guts of the earth, absorbing and thinking, eating each day.” - Pablo Neruda

So, let's not go on being a root in the dark. Let's make conscious decisions about what we choose to buy and where we choose to buy it from.

Love, Jules x
