#ThingsILoveThursday: Surrealism, Taking Charge, and Pretty Flowers...
“I am deeply fascinated with all existence and the unknown, and encourage others to cultivate daily gratitude for all the earth’s abundance." -@MERAKILABBE,Artist
Hiya there, babes! I just came home from a networking event, and I had some thoughts on the subway that I'd like to share: I'm just realizing how vital it is to network. For your own growth, it's necessary to put yourself out there and introduce yourself to strangers. There is so much you will gain just by exchanging friendly conversation with someone you've never spoken to before. By hearing their story, challenges, and their dreams, it opens you up to receive insight that might inspire you and even spark a new friendship.
I tend to go to work and rush home, so I can write/strategize for my blog until the wee hours of the night. I get caught up in this headspace where I will not socialize until the weekend. I know I need to get out more, meet people, SPEAK, make connections, and this will help me become a better writer and a better human. I can be shy in a crowded environment where I don't know anyone, but tonight (with a wine glass in hand), I introduced myself, had several meaningful conversations and came home with awesome connections. I encourage you to go out and see what comes of it - You'll feel really good about it, I promise. :)
things I love...
[WHAT]Surrealist Artist Vanja Vukelić of @MerakiLabbe. [WHY] My soul sister Ariana (TheMindfullKitchen) introduced me to her incredible art infused with symbols and sacred geometry. I feel incredibly connected to her work, and I love her use of feminine symbolism and personification of mother nature. It speaks. [WHAT]Fresh cut flowers. [WHY]Walking through the flower markets of New York make me feel all tingly inside! I love arranging them in little vessels and scattering them around the apartment like a freakin' nature fairy.
[WHAT] Being honest with yourself. [WHY]You know what you need to do to achieve your dreams. Sometimes you need to just pull the trigger. Sometimes you need to just put yourself first. Please, do not let anyone hold you back. [WHAT]My article 'Design a Life You Love'.[WHY]It's so important to remind yourself that YOU are in control, and you can change your world.
