What's in My Morning Matcha + Video Tutorial

matcha latte recipe

You all know how much I love my morning matcha lattes, and soooo many of you have asked what I put in mine! There are endless ways to get creative with the ingredients, so I'll tell you what ingredients I typically use, and WHY I use it.

Side note: It's also funny, because I used to be big snobby coffee drinker. I still enjoy coffee, but for some reason I haven't been craving it for the past few months. I'm just going with the flow, and right now, all I want is matcha.

How to Make Homemade Cashew Mylk

Ingredients + Why I Use Them

  • 1/4 cup of water heated to 170 degrees I use this Bonavita Kettle.

  • 1 tsp of organic matcha powder  My current faves are from Matcha Kari + Tea Bar.

  • 1 cup of heated nut mylk I make homemade cashew mylk every week - recipe coming soon!

  • 1/2 tsp of turmeric-collagen blend Totally optional! It's super good for you, so why not sneak it in if you can? I use Live 24K, because it is nutritionally optimized. This blend helps tame my gut inflammation majorly. It can also help if you have a headache. Just make sure you get a blend that includes black pepper in the ingredients. Read more about why here.

  • 1 tbsp of organic coconut butter This is really the ingredient that knocks matcha lattes out of the park! Sooo many good brands for this. I like Nutiva Coconut Mama + Artisana Organics has a good one too. Coconut butter is a healthy fat that helps balance hormones, keeps you full longer, boosts immunity, and so much more.

  • 1/2 tsp of organic cinnamon Cinnamon is one of the healthiest spices for you. It helps decrease inflammation, can lower blood sugar levels, and boosts immunity. I always find a way to sprinkle it into my day.

  • 1 tsp of gelatinized maca powder Maca is one of my favorite adaptogens. It helps balance out hormones, boosts energy, and can even potentially boost libido. I get Navita's Gelatinized Maca, because it's easier to digest than raw maca.

  • 1/2 tsp of coconut nector or manuka honey This is totally optional. Somedays I want to sweeten things up. Other days, I don't. I choose coconut nectar, because it has lower glycemic index than maple syrup. I like manuka honey for it's anti-inflammatory qualities.

Then, blend it all up in a high-speed quality blender like Vitamix for one minute! ENJOY!!!
