"Promise me you will not spend so much time treading water and trying to keep your head above the waves that you forget, truly forget, how much you have always loved to swim."

"Promise me you will not spend so much time treading water and trying to keep your head above the waves that you forget, truly forget, how much you have always loved to swim." - Tyler Knott Gregson

There are days, weeks, even months when you just feel the weight of life's twists and turns piling up onto your shoulders and you can't seem to remember the last time you felt you truly had it all together. You just can't seem to catch a break.

Personally, I could blame it on the gloomy January weather or the few not-so-positive individuals in my life…I could even blame it on my horoscope. In reality, there is no one to blame except no one. You cannot even begin to blame yourself, because that is not going to help you feel better, right? The point is to de-stress, unwind and to take one day at a time until you can finally see your toes again.

As humans we are vulnerable. We put our hearts, dreams and ideas out on the line every day for people to criticize, support or simply ignore and there are risks we must take because if we don't then we might lose the chance to ever do it again. I never want to miss out on the opportunity to learn something new or explore and have adventures with the people I love and the people I have yet to meet.

I notice when I feel my troubles are at its peak and I feel so built up that with just one more push I will crumble, I end up learning a triumphant life lesson. These milestones and rough patches are what steer us….maybe it is time to improve and keep moving forward on the same path or maybe you have hit a roadblock and need to switch lanes or MAYBE you realize you got off at the wrong exit a hundred miles ago and need to figure out how to turn around and go back. You get my point, so I can stop making driving analogies, right?

We are so lucky. We have life, love, choices, knowledge, trust, and we have trial and error. When we get frustrated or angry with another person, just remember we all have our own individual lives filled with complex situations and we cannot put ourselves at the center of another person's circle. We need to be at the center of our own circle and not lose sight of what a beautiful thing it is….just to breathe.

Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend,

Jules <3
