3 Ways to Pause and Reset (So You Can Keep Killing It At Life)

Where my female entrepreneurs at? In a world where we’re all hustling hard for our dreams, here’s your friendly reminder to pause, take a breath and make sure you’re still doing things you love outside of work (even if you love your job!). Despite what you might think, it’s possible to run a successful business and still have time for things you do ‘just for fun’. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you probably know I passionately believe that having more fun makes you more successful. But how do you take a step back and remember what those passions are?

1. Connect back to your roots.

Think about what you enjoyed before you entered the ‘real world’. What were your hobbies before there were bills to pay and before Instagram took up all of your spare time? For me, that’s an easy one. I was big into singing and recording my own music since I was a child. I actually have decent recording equipment, and I like to whip it out once in a while and create something. Once I get started, I’ll be at it for hours and hours. I get completely lost in it. I’m prioritizing doing more of this – not to necessarily share publicly, but because it fills my heart up! After a jam sesh, I feel more creative, calm, and ready to tackle my work with a fresh perspective.

2. Spend time with people that ground you.

There's no one who knows me better than Andrew. He encourages me when I doubt myself. He grounds me when I'm being unrealistic. He hears me out on every.single.crazy idea I share each week. Your success, your sanity, and your growth is directly impacted by who you surround yourself with. The energy you let in is the energy you send out. So, think about that.

3. Do things that make you feel confident and comfortable.

For me, sometimes this means getting a manicure, going to a yoga class, or buying a new outfit that makes me feel refreshed. Cute, but comfy clothing is definitely a way I like to treat myself when I'm stuck in my head. Lou & Grey is a brand that totally gets my lifestyle, whether I'm working at home or running to meetings and events. From the softness of the fabric to the confidence I have when wearing them, Lou & Grey gives me all the feels.

These are a few of the things I do on a regular basis to make sure I’m taking care of myself amongst this fast-paced, go go go mentality. It’s so important to have as much fun as possible, and to hone in on your passions.

So, think about what each of these mean for you. Always make time for yourself and the things you love!
