Natural Skin Care: Part Two

This is Natural Skin Care: Part Two. Continue using Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap as a face wash in conjuction with coconut oil for your moisturizer. To achieve even more beautiful, youthful and glowing skin, consider adding these three amazing products to your skincare regimen - Oats, Almond and Hempseed Exfoliator, Rose Water Cleanser, and Shea Butter - in that order!

It is so important to exfoliate a couple times a week to remove dead skin and clogged pores. You can easily (and inexpensively) make your own scrubs at home by grinding a handful of oats, raw almonds and hemp seeds in a blender. If you cannot find hemp seeds, then oats and almonds are perfectly fine. Store your new scrub in an airtight jar, and when you are ready to exfoliate, scoop out 1 teaspoon of your scrub and mix it with honey, yogurt, or just water. It is completely up to you. Honey and yogurt are great if your skin is feeling extra irritated and splotchy. However, my next recommendation will help with exactly that.

Rose water is my new favorite find. Not only does it smell heavenly, but it tightens pores, calms irritation and blemishes, as well as helps clean off any additional makeup your Dr. Bronner's missed. Rose water is great for sensitive skin, and it is safe to use day and night. After using rose water for about a month, I have noticed my skin bounces back from the occasional breakout much faster than before. Not bad, right?

My third recommendation is alternating between coconut oil and shea butter as your nightly moisturizer. If you have hyperpigmentation from acne, then shea butter will help fade those scars. After using coconut oil and shea butter for about a month, my skin is no longer red and uneven. *I wish I had a before and after picture to show you all, but I never thought to take a photo before I began this amazing journey into natural skin care.*

Please keep in mind, everyone's skin reacts differently. What may work for me, may not work for you. However, I have extremely sensitive skin, so I am a good candidate to test out new ideas.

Here is a breakdown of your newly updated skin care regimen:

  • Wash face with Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soap (day and night)
  • Exfoliate with your homemade oats, almond and hempseed scrub (twice a week)
  • Apply rose water with a cotton ball over entire face, avoiding eyes (day and night)
  • Moisturize with coconut oil or shea butter at night

Please let me know how these products work for you, and feel free to email me with any questions you have! I love to hear your stories, so keep reaching out.
